If our President declared a period of National mourning for the Columbia crew, I missed it.<br /><br />How long should we keep our flags at half staff to honor their memory?

we kept flags at half staff through wednesday.

mattttt25: I was at the Naval Radio Station on the next point down from the Academy in the 50's. One morning the Academy accidently put their flag up upside down and it flew that way all morning. Our station CO was a wise*** and he called the Commandant's office and advised that we were forming a boarding party to come to their rescue since they were in distress. Not a good idea!!!<br />I was in Annapolis a few months ago and it looks like the Radio Station is gone, since there were only a few of the big towers left. Replaced by sattelites, I guess.

yes, the david taylor research lab is pretty much gone. they demo'd most of the antenna, but left three- for what? navigation by water and air!!! talk about prime real estate, miles of untouched waterfront property in annapolis, just sitting while the navy/annapolis decide what should be done.
