11 years of saltwater was starting to creep past the sealing area SO it was Speedi-Sleeves or a new axel

I have had a lot of luck with them and they came in the 1.720 size of my seal area

You have to get creative with the driver as the standard one is to short

you Have to be sure to drive it deep enough 5/8 " in my case to be sure the seal does not hit the driveing ring

Its best if you dont need to snap off the ring

If they work as good as they look i should be fine for a long time :)

And those brakes are only 11 months old Ya gotta love saltwater

Pretty cool! Those seals really wore a groove into the axle. Think the salt helped it along?

Precision industries sells them around here, but as Tommays mentioned, they come in particular sizes. In my case, I have an ez loader trailer (tandem) and they do not make one close enough in size to use.

Re: Saveing you axel with Speedi-Sleeves :) 1 YEAR UPDATE

Well its spring and after last seasons near fatal bearing failure from the rusty spindle tearing the seal i though i better checK how the Sleeves were doing

I am :D to report that everything felt fine BUT wanting to take no chances i pulled the hubs and seals

Everything looks it was in there for about 1 hour after a full season of 75 mile round trip saltwater launchs

So i will wash everything in the saftey clean tank tomorrow and repack the hub and then hit the other one tomorrow night

I dont want to mixup left and right bearing seat carrying two sets to work to clean
