Anyone have the link to satellite photos of earth and water, think it was a gov site. You could see the waterways, and the deeper holes in the shallow water?

I use www.mapquest.com and select the aerial photo view. Map Quest is :) free :) and the aerial views are in  color :D . You can see different shades in the water. I have zoomed in on my home and can clearly see the swimming pool and driveway. MapQuest

Hey Jim in Orlando, you're right. I really can see the pool and driveway at your house. :D :D What kind of boat is that parked in your drive? ;) The color on MapQuest does make a difference.

www.googleearth.com

I like the 'placemark' feature. I put down marks and notes about fishing spots.

I also like to search for hidden fishing spots. Although the imagery is a few months up to a year old so sometimes you'll pull up to a nice pond/lake and there's houses being built now.

A note of caution, some of the free sites don't update regularly especially wrt the less inhabited parts of the map.

Here in LA, the hurricanes change the above and below water landscape faster than some of those sites update

Re: Satellite photos

I like microsoft's site the best. Just google "live local" and it will come up. I find that there Ariel pics are of a slightly higher quality than google or mapquest.

P.S. I can't believe I just raved about a Microsoft product.
