Was going to post this in good news but since I started it here I figured it best to report here again.

As most know she was told on the 4th that she was shipping out to the sand box on the 22nd.

At the 11th hour if you will, we got a call tonight that she won't be going next week. YEA!

We had no idea of how many loose ends we had and the 21 days gave us time to get our house hold in order.
We thought it was!

I won't try to explain the many details but
Example: We try to keep enough reserves so that if we both lost our job we could exist for 6 months.
We thought we had everything covered. But when dotting the Is and Crossing the Ts even with full powers of attornays and a community property state and married for 18 years.
Neither one of us had access to everything! Unless we are both there! This had never even come up before! Because we have always both been there to sign.
Good news: Now we are all squared away as we used to say in the Army.

As the topic says "delayed" but it gives us another maybe 30 days.
And thats a plus for us.
I'm going to HATE being a stay at home Mom!
Kits already think they can rule the house! ;)

Semper Gumby!

Link, married 18 years? Whatcha all playin the kids game of war for. Seems like ya'd all be too old for that. Or maybe they want the maturity and wisdom that Mrs Link has? ;)

Glad you got all squared away and if she does go, give her a high five for me!

LOL @ Boomyal on the age remark.
Would have been married 24 years if I had been smarter ;)

I was 48 in 2001 and the week of 911 I took my DD214 with me to the recuiters office just see if I could go active again.

I no sooner opened the door and she yelled out Over 40, prior service? I said yes Mam.
She said then you already know I'm a sergeant and not an officer, and no smart remarks about "when did they let women in the army" With a smile ofcourse. :)

She said that every recuiting office across the United States were slammed with vets in the over 40 crowd.

Anyway she said I had three years left to sign up.
If I could pass all the physicals. Over 40 crowd gets four. Instead of just one. Good reasons for that.
Passed every one except dental. 14 months later and $15,000 bucks lighter in my pocket book I went back again. Blood pressure to high.

Guess it just wasn't meant to be. I would put a "mad" face here except I think everything happens for a reason. Except children ;)

At least thats what I tell mine :D
