Salt Water

So, I am curious about the amount of corrosion if I run my 3.0 L Mercruiser in salt water? It is 20 years old, runs good, but I am a little nervous about running in salt water. Any suggestions to keep corrosion to a minimum and operability to a maximum?

I have a 20 year old boat/engine that has been in salt water seasonally for its entire life.

The way to protect the engine/outdrive is with anodes + your MerCathode system.

If you just do day launching, you could flush the engine on the muffs when you get back to the ranch.
