I recently purchased a donor boat for extra parts: Hardtop, etc
Had a 350Mag w/ bad manifolds, clock read ~350hrs.
Have already pulled the heads and to my surprise the cylinders did not look that bad...........definitely had indications of water, Have not tried to turn it over by hand yet.
Question: if the block is cleaned and boiled-out is there an issue w/ adding FWC?

If it’s been used here in our LI salty waters I would not try to use closed cooling as there would be a steady stream of rust flakes that would clog the heat exchanger. At least that’s how mine looked after about 15 years of salt water use. Not rusted thru but even though I put reman heads on it last year the block and old intake had plenty of flaking rust. So I left it raw water cooled and will wait on the closed cooling till I re power with a new crate engine...
