salt deposits on cylinder head gasket & water cover gasket

I have a 1996 yamaha 150 and recently replaced the cylinder head gaskets and water cover jacket gaskets. I always have this white salt deposit show up on outside of the gaskets after boating, it is on all areas of new gaskets. I do not see any sign of water leaking from cylinder head or water cover jacket. The engine runs fine. I wash it off but it always shows back up after running in salt water. Is this normal? Can the salt water leach through a new gasket? I have re torque it to make sure it is evenly sealed.

I get the same thing. I painted mine with galvanizing paint this time. I will let you know how it turns out.

Thank you both for your replies. I guess I will live with it. I may try painting it as well, maybe that will seal it up.
