Hi everyone,

The following is our latest downrigger footage of salmon and trout strikes. Most footage was taken between 60 and 100 feet down over 200 to 320 feet of water. A bit of a challenge for the small sensor camera but the final footage cleaned up reasonable well.

Hope you enjoy!

That was cool. Thanks for sharing. I'm sitting here wishing I was there. :(

Re: Salmon Strikes 2! - The Sequel (Downrigger Footage)

These vid's are really helpful. I now know what the fish were doing on my down rigger yesterday. I was running short at first and then went out 20' behind. I had more hits but fewer hookups. Now I know the line was floating up and the 7' ultra-light down rigger rod didn't have enough response to recover the line at a 1.8mph trolling speed. Next time I'll run it 7' (rod length) behind the ball as a starting point.

Thanks for the videos, there's a lot more in these than just cool underwater pics.

Thanks Jlawsen. The footage we have gathered over the year has really changed the way we fish too. I'm glad you're getting something useful out of them.
