Anyone fish for Salmon out of Algoma WI? (lake Michigan)

Brother picking me up Friday night and were driving there for the weekend. Hope catch something good. Never done it before.

It was a good weekend.

We set out at about 3 am Saturday morning.
within 20 minutes, bang. got one on the line. For about an hour to two hours it was steady. Pulled 16 in the boat. As fast as they hit. They died off. 2 hours of trolling only got a couple of small fish.

Largest one we pulled in was 17.5 lbs.
We went back out early Sunday morning, and pulled in 6, real slow. Took a gamble and went south of the marina. Info on the radio proved we needed to go north.

It was a good weekend, got lots of salmon to eat.

yeah, 2 down riggers.

The 1st time we went out early Saturday.. The downriggers were useless.
Running Dipsys and spoons. Caught most of the 1st outing on the spoons.

Early morning today, when we went out got 2 on the downriggers, and couple on the dipsys and rest were spoons.

GOOD JOB! i fish out of milwaukee all the time, gotta run 2 color lead core off the downriggers, that brings the bait 10 feet lower than the ball. then they work!!!!
or let out 100-125 feet of line then the downrigger will work that way too.
gotta love salmon fishing! good clean fun!
