I have 4 weeks off starting tomorrow and my father is coming to visit for 2 weeks from Victoria. There's the odd feeder Chinook or "Winter Spring" being caught just off the beach in front of town lately (Sandspit). I can't wait to get out there and give it a try.

My father is getting on in years and his back won't tolerate any pounding so it'll be nice to just launch the boat and start trolling right away. If it's flat calm we might be able to run a little ways to try for a halibut.

Wish us luck!

Well I finally got out Friday with our oldest son for a couple of hours and landed a 16 lb. chinook! I went again with my spouse, youngest son & parents yesterday and surprise, surprise, my wife landed a 67 lb. halibut!

What a wonderful Mother's Day we had. Guess what we had for dinner last night.
