Sailboat transported on borrowed trailer

I just bought a chrysler 26 swing keel and I want to transport it home to repaint top to bottom. Would it work if I used a borrowed power boat trailer? Any better ideas? I also want to service the keel so would need to support the boat in a way to drop the keel down.

NO, NOT without great Modification to the trailer, there are alot of differences.

Try to borrow a sailboat trailer built for a boat similar to yours.<br />Another idea- if there is a boatyard not too far away from you- consider a haulout, and work on the boat at that yard.<br />A sailboat placed on wrong trailer could be seriously damaged- and the damage may not be seen right away. You may discover the damage when you're far from shore.<br />Good luck!
