It was with deep sadness that I said goodbye to a dear friend today. We had gone on many fishing trips together and had even mowed the yard and tended the garden together. Time had not been kind to my friend and the end had finally come.




Yes, I finally had to throw away my favorite fishing/work shorts.
R.I.P. which stands for ripped in pieces.

I am so sorry for the loss of you fishing shorts and shirts. There is such an emotional bond that grows between our "lucky" clothing and our psyche. My your scars heal, and may you find "new" ratty clothing to bond with. Best wishes, my friend! :facepalm:

I actually had very similar feelings for some well used work snickers. There were holes and torn areas all over them. But they fit perfectly well. I had to part with them and it hurt... :blue:

You cruel hard man. Euthanasia is not always they way forward. Just ending life like that is not fair.
If you had a heart you would have tried to help.
I for one would have sought help and found a way to cure/fix the poor things.

I'm so disappointed in you.

These pants had requested a DNR alert. That does not mean Do Not Resuscitate as you probably thought, but Do Not Resew.

The leg hems had become semi-detached and presented a snagging hazard. I could have just amputated the hems but then I'd be walking around wearing some Daisy Duke shorts with my boxer shorts hanging out the bottom and that would not be a pretty sight.

It was just best for all involved that I and the pants departed ways.

I asked my wife to find me a pair of shorts with out grease stains because we were going out to dinner, the trip ended up shopping for new ones lolol
