I have a 1983 Bayliner Contessa 2750, engine is a Volvo Penta AQ260, the drive is a SP 280 with electomechanical tilt. My question is what holds the black electric box with the relays and limit switch down on the aluminum shaft housing? I have studied the parts fiche diagrams and don't see what I am missing. I machined an aluminum C shaped braked to sit under the collar and bolted it through the electric box's original inner two holes and it was a great fit. After i secured the box there is a problem with the limit switch. If i loosed the box to disengage the switch then it goes up and down with no problems. I have the OEM v/p manual and the sealock version, I've studied the trouble shooting flow charts and wiring diagrams, swapped relays and no avail. Did I create my own problem clamping the electric box down? thanks for ya'll help. I've been reading here for about 2 years, finally had to join to post. andy

The box is held down by the two long bolts that go through the middle of the black box. You may need small washers on the ends to catch the flange on the lift mech. The bolts can't be too tight of they pull down on the cover of the box causing the limit switch to work improperly. the two bolts should just be snug enough to keep the box from lifting up. The box will still be loose enough to turn on top of the tilt mechanism.:)
