I really dont see how you could go wrong, I bought an okuma reel that was similar, and have used it on Salmon in a boat, and its a great reel.

We'll have to meet at Milford sometime, Brad...It's one of the better walleye lakes in Ks..just west of Manhattan.
I can't say I've had any "Bad" experiences on ebay...about 200 good ones.

That's a lot of features for $20...I bought a "Master" (Penn freshwater series) baitcasting reel on ebay a few months ago for about $15, been real happy with the performance. I'm curious to hear how this one does for ya.

racer, I've had good experiences on ebay dealing with sellers who are running business selling new stuff and have lots of good feedback. Thing is by the time you pay shipping you don't save much on small (say $20 or $25) orders.

We actually have a decent amount of Walleyes in the Columbia river system, so Im told. I have never caught a Walleye. Sure would be glad to have you in my boat for a bass fishing trip though. Only problem I see is a lack of income while you are here. :D

Brad, Milford is one of only a couple of lakes in Ks that has all 3 spieces of black bass. In spring (water temp 50 to 60 Deg.) fishing is good for all 3.
Highest Density of 12"+ Bass is Norton...1.5hrs from me...highest density of 20"+ is, #1, LA CYGNE, #2,BIG HILL, #3, TORONTO.
LA CYGNE has 5 times greater numbers of 20"+ Bass than any other lake in Ks.

Re: RVO Baitcaster....???(update)

Cedar Bluff was one of the best Bass lakes in the country until unregulated tourneys ruined it...as many as 230 tourneys a year over the past 5 years. On any given summer weekend, there may be 10 different Bass tourneys going on...2004 was the first year for a Bass Master's Classic there....
Cedar Bluff was #4 in density of 12"+ Bass and #2 in 15"+, but about #7 in 20"+

Re: RVO Baitcaster....???(update)

Got the RVO yesterday...spooled it up with 14# Big Game, slapped it on a rod tied a sp.Bait on and headed to the front yard...
Not Bad!!! Cast control works well, drag seems smooth, and no slack in the anti-reverse...pretty solid!
I'm going to add my own grease mixture of 10W non-detergent with just a bit of OMC tripplegaurd for light stick and see how it acts....
Anyway, it seems to operate better than most 50-70 buck reels I've had...but, a 12-15lb Wiper might expose the weak parts if there are any.

RVO and the Penn Roddy 175 are IDENTICAL reels....don't know who makes them but they came out of the EXACT same mold...

Walleyehed,
I grew up camping/fishing Milford, mostly the Wakefield area. My Uncle fishes the School Creek area, and lately I have been caping at Timber Creek. Where do you fish Milford? I'm planning our annual Memorial Day Weeking trip and was wondering where the best spots on Milford are. It's a big lake as you know.

Re: RVO Baitcaster....???(update)

Up to a week or 2 before that weekend and during, fish the mud flats at the upper end in 4-12ft water with crawlers on spinner rigs, and troll jointed shad-raps. If you have a light wind, find a point on the north side that has a vast flat extending along ways from shore and drift it with a jighead and crawler.
Depending on water levels, if you can find a good mud bottom point in the 6ft range, you can clean house with a jig and crawler casting TO the point and slowly bringing it back to you.
The best flats and points will be those that have access to 18-20ft+ water within 50-75 yards...But the flat may be several hundred yards and vary only a couple of feet before the drop. Fish close to the drop mid-day and farther up the flat morning and evening.
I have seen the walleye bunch up there at about that time of year on long points and be in 15-18ft, so don't over-look that either...depends on weather and water temp.
