I pulled off my Alpha one gen 1 drive and found this. I'm doing a transom rehab. Bellows lower shift cable, gimbal ETC. The kit comes with the Ujoints that I plan on changing . But is the rest of the assembly to far gone? I'd rather not change everything else on the assembly if possible. (money) Do you think the holes where the Ujonts meet the yoke, center socket will clean up and be reusable? it would seem its the only part that matters?I pulled the cover off the top of the outdrive and the gear oil, bearing and gear look good. No water or rust so the seal must be good. Its been My boat for years so I know the history.. This is 2 years worth of salt water. Last time I pulled the outdrive it was fine. I'll pull the assembly and install new seals....think I can clean them up and reuse the assembly with new Ujoints?

You’ll know better when you get the u-joint assembly taken apart and cleaned up.

I’d be concerned about possible pitting of the drive shaft at the upper seal.
