Running without thermostat

I ran my 55hp 69 chrysler today for about 2 hours. Everything seems to working fine except it has kind of a rough feel to the motor. Vibrations and such. Will running without the thermostat contribute to this. I have rebuilt or replaced the entire fuel system at this point and I was wondering if I should put a new one in or just run without.

Re: Running without thermostat

I am assuming you mean a Thermostat.

Put a new thermostat in. It will help with idle, as it allows the engine to run at a warmer more constant temp.

TMD
