Running Premium in Yard implements?

Think it would hurt anything? I have a station, right up the street that sells non-ethanol Premium. The non-ethanol would be great for sitting in the implements during the winter. It would probably be better for all the carburetors all year long.

Only thing it will hurt is your bottom line... And, if it's just yard toys that won't hurt too bad.

I'm guessing the regular has ethanol? Wish I had someplace nearby that sold non-ethanol anything.

Check this link out Av8n. Might be your lucky day. How 'bout avgas, it doesn't have ethanol does it.

http://pure-gas.org/

True, they do charge a premium for it because they have to send a seperate tanker out to the spots that will carry it. They mix in the ethanol as the gas is being loaded into the tankers. Ethanol is cheaper per gallon so that makes a difference too. As soon as Congress figures out that ethanol is a charade, they will quit subsidizing it and the price will skyrocket.

There is a place further from me that sells Regular without the ethanol. But not only is it further away from me but their price is about the same as the local station that sells the premium only.

Well, there's nothing remotely close to me, buuut, I see one near a lake I'm planning to try soon so I may have to stock up a bit. Thanks for the link.

The premium should be bettter than the ethanol tained regular.

Personally, I drain my tanks and run the carbs dry, if the power equipment is going to sit, more than a month or two. Don't want any of that garbage, sitting in the fuel system, for several months, of temperature changes.

Seems to be a debate about keeping a carb wet or dry, especially after it has been subject to gas, ie, not new in the box. I have alway kept mine wet but have used fuel stabilizer. That worked well but ethanol is a different animal, not subject to the redeeming properties of fuel stabilizer.

Not meant to be political but if you're waiting for Congress to figure ANYTHING out, you'll be waiting a very, very long time.

I thought about that too, but the power equipment, I still have manuals for, recommends running them dry and absolutely recommends not storing them, with ethanol in them.

We ran avgas (100LL) in various honda motors. Water/chemical pumps and golf carts, they still run fine...93 will probably make less power though as they're designed to run on 87.
