Running in salt water

I often hear about salt water being hard on boats. I have an 18' bowrider I/O that I enjoy running in salt water a lot more than fresh water. I am careful to flush the engine when we get back and hose the boat down with fresh water. Is salt water hard on the boat?

salt water is hard on a boat and motor but just keep on flushing the motor and rinsing the boat down you wont have no trouble the salt water here on the gulf coast is really bad on motors <br />happy boating
