Hi Guy's,i'm new to the forum.my question is,i ran my 24'searay up a river for about 15 mins, and all this time the temp gauge did'nt move.shut her off at the slip and checked gauge, wiring and sensor on manifold, braught her back to ramp and loaded her back on trailer.i later pulled thermostat housing off and the housing broke apart in my hand with realative ease.changed housing and thermostat and seems to work fine now, gauge comes to operating range.my question is,would i have done any internal damage
running for that long?i havent had her out in open water yet, only tested with earmuffs in driveway.thanks

Re: running hot

I doubt it, at worst it may have accumulated a bit of moisture on the valve covers inside or the oil pan and maybe the risers. but if it all works fine and you brought it up to tempreture it should burn off any moisture next trip out.
good luck and keep posting
