Well Thanks to you guys the old XP150 is running great but I'm curious were this engines considered good or dependable engines (1989 XP150
Evenrude)I have replaced water pump, thermostat, power pack, and rebuilt carbs. I'm thinking of selling it and buying a 18ft dyna trak
with a 1992 85hp Yamaha. Do you think the Yamaha is a better motor??? I know this is a hard question and maybe even a dumb question but I would be grateful for your input.

xp150: Just an opinion, but the OMC V-4's of this era were sturdy, dependable engines. If I had one that I knew was in good shape, I'm not sure I would want to trade it off for one that I didn't know as well. Especially if it was going to cost any serious bucks to do so. Some of the other guys may have different opinions.

I can tell you from my own experience that the Yamaha 85 is a fine motor. I just traded my 1993 Yamaha in and never had a moment of trouble with it. It started and ran every time and never left me stranded. I was going with a 4 stroke Yamaha, but I opted for a four stroke Suziki instead, just a better deal he worked for me.
