Running fuel line along gunwale?

I just bought my first fishing boat... a 14' aluminum Lowe with 9.9 hp Johnson outboard. I've moved the 6 gallon gas tank up to the bow and have a longer fuel line. My question is how to run the fuel line along the gunwale. I've looked online for some type of clip that might serve the purpose but can't seem to find anything. Can anyone offer advice on how to run my fuel line along the top, inside length of the gunwale? Many thanks...

Look in the electrical department of a good hardware store (not Home Depot) for cable clips. You can find them somewhere near the coaxial TV cable stuff. They come in several sizes. Most are designed to be nailed to wood, but you should be able to find some that can be attached with a screw. Even the nailed type can be used. Pull the nail, then use a stainless sheet metal steel screw from outside the hull into the nylon of the clip. Measure the diameter of your fuel hose to help you find the right size.

I did this, and it worked great on my little tin boat.

also you can run a piece of gray electrical pvc conduit, with the clamps, and the feed the hose thru it. this provides protection from the uv rays, and the occasional fish hook.

Re: Running fuel line along gunwale?

Thanks CATransplant and tashasdaddy! I did this last ngiht and wound up using PVC pipe. I used white since the outside of the boat is white but I might wind up painting them light brown to match the inside of the boat. I didn't want to run the PVC all the way along the side so I just used four lengths approx 16 inches each. I used stainless screws and mounted directly to the gunwale rail rather than putting holes in the side of the boat. I think it turned out pretty good. Here's a pic for better frame of reference. Thanks for the advise guys and happy boating...

Good solution, and you can remove the line when you need to. Excellent!
