Running engine without gear lube?

I was in process of changing the line in my bravo 3s but now have to fix gimbal ring. I need to do some troubleshootung on the motors, can i run, the motors with no lube in the drive?

Only if you want to rebuild/replace the drive afterwards. Like running your motor with no oil

You can pull the drive, then connect a hose to the raw water pump directly.

Don't know if you have V belts or serpentine, but with V belts just remove the belt from the pump and connect hose to thermostat housing. With serpentine, can also remove the impeller and leave pump attached, then put hose on thermostat housing

No! Drive is always connected and spinning when the engines running. Take the drive off and hook a water hose to the engine.

only if you pull the drive from the boat first or you toast your drive

Ok didn't realize it spins no matter what.

Ayuh,...... Welcome Aboard,........ When you pull the drive, you'll see the drive is splined to the motor,.....

The clutch/ shiftin' is done in the drive,....
