running above 8000 feet?

Hi,<br />I am looking at getting a motor from Florida, it’s a 140 ’78 Johnson. What changes will I have to make to the jets on the carbs? I have been told about variable jets. Are they any good and can I get them for this motor as I the lakes I fish are between 5-8000 feet in altitude.<br /><br />Dave

The carb. would need to be rejeted for the higher altitude but any johnson dealer can help you with the proper size.
