Hi all,
I have a 2005 180 sport. I'm in CA and the boat is stored in a garage, so it's not winterized. I did add stabalizer in to the fuel.

Is it necessary for me take the boat out once or twice a month to run it on the water muffs? Can you walk me through this process? How long should I run it for? Should I rev the engine? Thanks.

Re: Runner under muffs

Necessary? No....But it wouldn't hurt to run it....In fact it would be a good thing...Put the muffs on, turn on the hose & start 'er up......Let it run for 2 minutes after the thermostat opens....There is no need to rev the engine (over 1500 rpm) Put in gear fwd & reverse.....Make sure that all is clear before doing that, or better yet remove the prop prior to doing that.....Just remember to never run the engine without the water flowing ;) .....JK
