My 3.0 Mecruiser has a run-on problem. Someone suggested adjusting the fuel mixture screw on the carb, is that a difficult job?

Has it had the problem since new? Or did it just start. You could try to richen the mixture a little bit by turning the screw counter clockwise, if it has been an ongoing problem.<br />If it just started you may want to tune it up and run some seafoam or power tune through it to remove excess carbon deposits.

check that your timing is correct for the fuel you use.

Lower the idle speed if you can.<br /><br />Before you shut down let it idle for 30 seconds.<br /><br />Make sure you have the proper heat range plugs.
