Hi!

I tried my little mercury 3.5 (4 stroke) for the first time today.

The user manual say to close the fuel valve and wait for the engine to stall after use.

I closed the fuel valve and waited on neutral for like 1 minutes and the motor never stalled.

Do you think that there is a problem with the fuel valve, or I didnt waited enough to empty the carb?

In either way, since I dont plan to use the outboard before a month, should I leave it that way or I should run it dry?

Thanks!

Start it up and let it run till it stops.-----It takes quite a while for it to run out.

Ok thanks, I thought that it would stall in like 2-3 seconds, not 2-3 minutes, I was worry that it was a bad valve.

It is sipping fuel when idling, vildric. It will take some time before stopping.
