Run Away Prop

I was recently out on Lower St. Regis Lake, New York. While dead heading at full throttle all of a sudden it was if I snapped the shear pin. I lowered the rpm's and put it in neutral, put it back into forward and was off. It runs great at low and mid range, but every time I bury the throttle, this happens.

Any thought's?

Possible spun hub or motor trimmed out too far...I'm leaning toward the latter..

Since this is a '60 40hp we're talking about here, I think it's probably the former. The propeller is normally set so deep on those that the latter cannot happen.
