Wow, just imagine what we could accomplish if we channeled all the left/right hate energy against the ACTUAL enemy.

Re: Rummy vs the Generals

Ok lets get right down to it..Lets go over there and slaughter every single person in the middle east Isreal can start on the West side well start on the East side well meet in the middle and land claim everything weve touched..That people is the only way to resolve our issues with these people..Or we can invent an alternative fuel source and let the arabs drown in there @@it. And never give the middle east another thought. Or we can start in some country try to get democracy started and hope that it can flurish so it will spread throughout the region. Why do that you say, well Ill tell you capitalist dont attack each other in a democracy were a man has the ability to make something of his life, and to have a family in a safe enviroment. There is no need for extreemist. And no need for this type of violence..But you cant change people over night youre talking about a region of the world that freedom has never even been idea..These people have been controled for so long they arent sure what to do when someone isnt telling them..Not to mention they never ever forget that 100 years ago youre uncle spit on my porch so i will kill you today for it..Or one last resort we can do pull out like Slick Willie always did become Isolationist agian thats it..Last couple of times we did that it only cost us a couple of million of our solders lives between ww1 and ww2..

So if they do agree it's a dictatorship or monarchy.
And by them you prefer to support politicians over the military in time of war.
We'll fundamentally disagree on more I'm sure.

Im not saying that the politicans are right I am just saying that with out them there is no control on the military and yes the military needs that control..A dog needs a short leash long enough to let it strike but short enough to keep it from going rabbid and turning on you..

Someday I'll be as smart as skinnywater and I'll be able to post replies to everyone telling them they're idiots.
I'm just calling you and DLM idiots. You both are the greatest habitual name callers on any politial debate. Time and time again both of you do this despite numerous pleas from the mods not to. Realize it doesn't bother me more that the effort to ignore you both, but look at the snivel when you get some of your own medicine. :D

A good example of racism.
Nice try but it didn't fly.

Dogsdad, no hard feelings on this end. My apologys if it stung more than it should. ;)

I can see right off SOLID is an astute historian.
he failed to mention his theory has been tried and thats why we are here today.
is it unforunate them dang camel jocks have monkywrenced US policy?
yep.
is it unfortunate not a single admin since WWII has noticed we will lose?
yep.
thats what I try to say, national intrest and national security are vastly different at times.
most of the modern middle east was drawn up with no input, translate ZERO input, from those that actually lived there.
its time to either back down or admit were gonna take OUR oil regardless of which country its in.

You habitually insult everyone on this board with your arrogance and I-am-uniquely-qualified attitude. Save your insincere apologies for someone who 1) will buy them, and 2) who cares what you think.

How long have we been in Iraq??? Was just thinking about what was accomplished between 1942 and 1945, before laser guided missiles…and the advent of the United Nations.

For those that are victims of a public education, ’42 to ‘45 would have been World War II, the inference being a lot was accomplished; we jumped into and finished a hugely significant war in those 3 years, including chasing Rommel out of the desert.

How long have we been playing in the Iraqi sandbox???

18R
a better question may be WHY are we playing in the dessert in the first place.
the era from 39-45 was entirly different as we actually had a defined, uniformed enemy with a govt capeable of surrender and a clear goal of how to make that happen.
in this event we dont even know the objective,
and "terror" is subjective so please refrain from using the word.
now rhat our fealess leadership has announced the mess made will be the next presidents issue it frees them up for tactical nukes in Iran against yet more ghosts.

I would so like to enter this discussion and express my feelings against Rummy, "W", Cheney and all the rest of this administration but what is the point. I doubt that anyone has expressed an opinion here that has changed anyone's mind - ever.
