I am reassembling my '94 Evinrude 115 cross flow after a rebuild, and I noticed that the aluminum exhaust guides that bolt under the aluminum exhaust/water cover are slightly lower (approx 5-10 thousands)than the rest of the gasket surface. To seal properly, I was considering switching to the "Ultra Black" RTV instead of using the OMC compound (AKA "peanut butter") like the other gaskets. Anyone been there / done that? Thanks!
