boat is a 1987, 19' with a 3.0 engine. at wot rpm's are 4500 at approx. 35 mph. is this too high? should i change to different prop to lower rpm's? engine runs fine, no noises etc. & doesn't burn a drop of oil. had valve job done last year. like i said engine runs fine & i want to keep it that way. any comments appreciated.

Re: rpm's

I,ll second that, unless you are racing and want to change engines every 6 mon. then stay under 4500 rpm....... just my opinion......
