I have an Alumaweld Super- Vee ( 15'7" )with a 30 hp Honda and tiller control. The boat's heavy at 775 pounds with 10 degree vee bottom.....I do love the boat...
The original prop (a 12 pitch )was too steep at high elevations (4,500')........going to a 10 pitch made a huge difference and I don't think that top speed was hurt much at all even in lowe elevations.....
My question is ...It seems to be running a really high rpm.....possibly too much in the lower elevations at WOT. I would like to install a tach but was told that the motor has built -in over rev protection and not to worry.....fyi...the boat does 28mph in lower at 500 ft....haven't check it at 4,5000 ft.
If I purchase a tach...any suggestions?
Also could some one explain the difference in tilt and trim? Thank you......P.M.
