My 1996 Yamaha 250's are acting up. More specifically the STBD side will on pull 4800 RPM's while I get 5400 on the PORT side. Also I noticed on the fuel mgmt system that STBD at cruise is sucking 17gph while the port side is 10gph. STBD side starts and idles smoothly. Any suggestions ?

Re: RPM Loss

I'm going out on a limb on this one. Your stbd motor is sucking more fuel and running less rpm than the port. That tells me it is working harder and doing less. Pull the props and check for fishing line wrapped around the prop shaft.

Else check that the alarm system for overheating and low oil is working properly on the stbd mtr.

Re: RPM Loss

I found the problem, staring me right in the face when I poped the engine cover off. One cylinder had a spark plug wire pulled out of the cap. Screwed it back in and it runs good. Thanks.
