RPM and Speed loss

Here it goes again, I have a 1989 Force 125hp motor and t is acting really stupid. Now I can only go up to 2500 rpm under load in the water. I checked all wires again and found that I have a bad ignition module. Only half of it is working. I am firing on cylinders 1,2 and 4. Lost #3 ad dont know if this is what's causing the problem. I already swapped coils and the problem did not follow the third coil. Therefore I am at a loss as to what it might be. Please help if you can. If it is the module, does anyone know where I can get one at a reasonable price?

Re: RPM and Speed loss

Most likely the module but could be the trigger. Check for resistance on that trigger. If it shows infinite, it is bad =, if it shows resistance it is good and the modukle is most likely bad.

For a new module, try CDI ignition--they run a little over 100 bucks

could this cause the loss in rpm and speed, or might it be in the lower unit?

Re: RPM and Speed loss

Very unlikely anything in the lower unit would cause a loss in RPM's. Fix the ignition problem first.
