what's best route for fuel line from the tank to filter to pump?

I have a Mercruiser 3.0 but the fuel line wasn't there when I got the boat.

A) Across the rear of the engine near the top of the transom
B) Around the front of the engine along the stringers to the starbord side?

See photo attached. A = Green Route; B = Blue Route.

any concerns with route A being too close to the Riser?

Also note the tank is on the port side gunwale

I think the original routing was like the green line. It would probably also offer a more accessible filter location. - Grandad

If routed that way, the fuel line is within a few inches of the exhaust riser and woudln't that cause vapor lock issues?

Hi Nick. Has there been a Mercruiser directive on this? I had heard about issues with the 6 & 8 cylinders, but not about the 4, so maybe I misspoke. - Grandad

Ayuh,..... I'd think the blue line, go down under the deck, 'round the motor,....

The filter can be mounted anywhere ya want, but the normal location is nearer the fuel pump,....
