rotten transom? anyone in the chicago area

i was going to do this myself but i have to get surgery on my arm in a few weeks . its going to take a few months to heal so i need someone in the chicagoland area that can fix a rotten transom. iam on the nw side of chicago in a town <br />called elkgrove . a few miles west of ohara airport. i would be willing to drive 50 to 100<br />miles out of my way !its a 16 foot bayliner with a 4cyl i/o.<br /><br />thanks kiefer

although i cant help you, i understand what you are going threw. ive had a spine surgery and shoulder surgery all the while in the middle of a boat project. have spent countless $$$$.$$ on trying to get it rite. the bad thing is that people take advantage of you when you are in this way. choose your help wisely, yor disadvantage is the word 'bayliner'. i love them i have a trophy and had a 18ft cobra. they are great boats.<br /> try the project boat section of this forum and also go to search, type in transom repair or along that line and you should get some use full info. also for clearnce dont forget you can let some air out of tires. just my thoughts. good luck!!!!!!!!

hey mark . i was going to do it myself ,but i have to get my arm fixed first. and by the time it heals it will be boating season and i wont have it on the water.im looking for someone <br />who is reasonable .i know what has to be done.there are 4 layers of plywood on the transom.only the first layer is gone. i would be willing<br />to take it to you. i will e-mail you some pictures of the rotten transom!<br /><br />thansk rich
