I am making my first attempt to post a picture from my gallery to facebook. As I do it, the picture shows up sideways. I hate it when other people do this so I did not continue the post.

I was able to find the rotate function in the gallery and did so. It shows up in my gallery as rotated but when I go to share it on facebook, it is still rotated 90? to the left.

What gives? What am I missing?

Try using the Google Photos app. When you use that app, it also automatically stores the picture in the cloud so you can edit it on a PC too. The gallery app doesn't modify the photo as far as I know.

On my phone, if I tap the pic, menu option pop up. Under edit there is a rotate pic option. If I do this it will ask to save the changes to the pic.

Boom, did your phone come with a manual.

I'll give that a looksee. The strange part is that I wanted to post two pictures from my gallery. They both had the same orientation when viewed in the gallery but when I loaded them onto the facebook setup, one was straight up and the other was sideways.

If you download the app to your phone, how do you access the cloud from your pc? Can you still 'share' a photo in the cloud the same way you share it from your gallery? Can you organize your pictures in files? Can you upload other photos that you have on your pc, to the cloud storage?

Hey 64, I found the rotate function, I rotated the picture and saved it. It showed rotated in my gallery presentation but when I uploaded it to the facebook setup page, it still showed rotated 90? to the left.

...and yeah, I'm sure I have a saved manual in my bookmarks.

I just use it for its basic purpose to backup up photos I take with my phone to the cloud.

I found one work around. Rotating the picture does not work. It's like the system remembers the original orientation. I stopped by a Verizon sales booth at Costco today and asked. The sales kid texted my original picture back to myself. He then saved that texted picture to my gallery. It is now in the proper orientation when I post it to facebook.

Problem with doing that is that you often lose a LOT of resolution of the picture depending on what happens when you text.
