Rotary steering - Rack&Pinion ?

My steering cable broke on me and it is a Teflex Rack and pinion . What i am wanting to know is can i replace it with a Rotary style.How much modifications has to be made to my dash and / or will it work ? I have a Stratos Bass Boat.Or do i want to stay with The Rack ?

No mods to be made..Just buy the whole system. About 120.00 for the Morse system<br /><br />Some people like the no feedback system. Which is a little more.

Is the Rotary system better than the Rack an Pinion type ? What are some recommendations ?So they will bolt up the same on my dash ?

It would be better to replace with what you have. Just replace the whole system when you do it..It will cost about 30.00 more with the kit..You will not be sorry in the long run!

Thanks for the help.One more ? I have mine off allready (the rack and cable)is there a easy way to measure the length of it to tell what length i need to replace with ?
