Rotary knob/switch question

Hello everyone,
New to this site, but not new to boat......first was in late 80ies; this is my forth.
I have a question about the rotary knob/switch on my 1999 Key West 2020 Walk-Around.
One: how does this knob come off?
Two: is there a bulb or what, that lights up when the knob is turned on?
Three: can the light be replaced or do I have to replace the complete knob?
I am trying to post photo of knobs/switches.
Much thanks,
Patrick

Re: Rotary knob/switch question

Not knowing the exact switch model I would say they either have a screw on the bottom side of the knob or the just pull off. I'm guessing you looked and did not find the screw and tried pulling but in most cases it is one of the two

Re: Rotary knob/switch question

Can't tell from the picture provided, but some times knobs like that get their illumination from behind the knob. The back side of the knob could be translucent and allows a bulb behind the knob to shine through when turned on. I can't say for certain with those though because I can't see if there is a bulb in the clear area or not... As far as how they come off, again I can't tell for that either, but do check for a set screw or a simple pull off. Could also have a release from behind the panel as well... Need more pictures from different angles and behind the panel if possible...

Re: Rotary knob/switch question

Thanks 'AllDodge' and 'gm280' for the replies.
I did find out that the knob does...just pull off...I had to use a small flat-tip screwdriver to help in this 'remove'.
Behind the knob is two or three (depending on if it is a on-off, or a off-left on / right on type switch) red 'dots' (I am thinking that there is a light behind the 'red-dots' that comes on when the switch is turned on and 'shines' through the clear part of the knob). So...........now I guess I need to know if I can replace a bulb or the complete switch assembly?
I guess I'll keep looking.
C'ya,
patrick

Those appear to be Sierra "Rotoswitches." If so they don't have a bulb but what Sierra calls an Illumination Module. I-Boats or NAPA should be able to help you out. Just go to the parts area on this site and search for Sierra rotoswitch and all the different modules should come up.

dwco5051 - Thanks, because the knob/switches work oaky, I will have to decide if it is important enough to have a light come on??? I will go on the 'Sierra' site and see what they have. Thanks again for your input.
