This apology is resultant of comment on the "Spying Thread" as written by rolmops: <br /><br /> "Txswinner,I am the son of a survivor of the camps.Your use of the word Reich in order to compare rightwingers on this board to the germans of 60 years ago is disgusting.I agree that some of the rightwingers here are sometimes a bit extreme,but not once have I heard a racist remark and not once have I felt in any way threatened.You may disagree with their politics,but to imply that they are potential mass murderers and concentration camp builders is a huge undeserved insult.I think an apology is in order.<br /><br /><br />rolmops, You have my apology and your reasoning is sound, I shall hereafter refrain from the use of the term in question. That is not done out of threat of censureship but because it does offend you as an individual; and that, I do respect. Again my heartfelt apologies and promise.

Rolmops - Having claimed linage to the ‘camp’ experience, you should be an expert on the subject, or at least know a little more than the average person. Perhaps you can share with us how many people suffered the fate of the camps? And how many of those people are believed to be of Jewish descent?

Japanese car owner, I liked you better when you called me whiner but since the apology was not meant to you guess it does not matter.<br /><br />JB, This apology and non-use of the descriptive word is in no way a result of what I consider overzealous use of moderation power or censureship, but as respect to one with good reason.<br /><br />rolmops, it would be interesting to hear some information you might have, if you wish to share it, from a survivor of the camps. My uncle was an American bomber pilot shot down and became a POW in Germany. He has died and I regret not taping the few times he spoke of the event in his life.<br /><br />He was in a camp that had areas for Americans, Russian, Polish, Jewish and other. He saw very little of the Jewish population as they were very segregated. He said what he saw was the harshest treatment and worst jobs given to the Russians.<br /><br />He told me he was treated with some respect but by no means at a level a human should be treated. He did grant the German's in control of the camp had very little themselves and were living in harsh conditions.<br /><br />If this becomes a thread which I hope it will I would love to know more. By the way, my uncles description of some respect left him weighing 87 pounds when liberated by American troops.

The gross meaness posted by some faceless members including advocating the shooting of lawers is dissappointing. The same ones will in the next breath be bemoaning the ban on prayer in public schools and other similar insults to our christian values and heritage.

Hey, I’m not advocating it is necessary to shoot the lawyers! Firing squads are just one option. There’s burning at the stake, burial in open face pits, tossing from airplanes, throwing into volcanoes, feeding them to alligators... My personal favorite is throwing them into a lion pit, but I’m not sure that doesn’t constitute some kind of cruelty to animals. Some one brought up the idea of a large catapult…and no landing net. Use your imagination, there are lots of diff options, all with the same positive results.<br /> <br /><br />Fwiw, there are more lawyers in my immediate family than one should ever have to endure. If it makes you feel better, just think of all of those creative ideas applying to members of my family only.<br />
