I just purchased a 19.5' Celebrity Bow Rider 1982
Weighs 3300lbs

It did not come with a trailer, found a Galvanized trailer, adjusted it to fit. (adjustable up to 21' boat)

It only has 2 pads on the rear, and the bottom rollers for the V of the boat.

I am going to be adding side bumpers to make this pig easier to line up on the trailer, and was going to add a few more pads for underneath support.

I've seen a lot of trailers with rollers instead of pads, what are the pro/cons for this?

Re: Rollers or Pads?

It depends on the boat's construction, NDemge.

Some boats, like my Boston Whalers, have their strength in the keel. So Whaler insists on the weight being mainly on keel rollers with the bunks only to stabilize it. They tell us not to use roller trailers. Some use trailers with the bunks close to the keel and Whaler okays that.

Other boats, built with strong stringers in the hull, and most aluminum open boats like the weight distributed. The roller trailers work well for them.

I personally like the rollers better. I think they are easier to load and launch.

Good luck. :)
