I have a Load Rite Roller trailer that is in need of roller replacement. Here are my Questions-

1. The rolelrs are held on by a pin driven through the shaft. These are corroded and very difficult to remove., Is there a better way?

2. Are Poly rollers worth the extra cost? 16 rollers at $5-$15 add up quickly.

Re: Roller Trailer Q's

Afraid to say no tricks on removal unless you soak the pins with "PB BUSTER" available at parts stores.

The poly rollers are darn near industructable. Some brands (most  )of rubber rollers leave wonderful black trace marks on the hull. Both do the same job. Me personally I don't have the cash for as many as I would need on my 24' trailer

I can live with the occasional black streak.

Bob

Re: Roller Trailer Q's

Thanks Bob. I have noticed that Boaters World has the Poly rollers in packs of 4 for $30. Regular rubber rollers are $5.50 for a difference of about $2 per roller. It also looks like the polys have plastic hubs. Since my boat tends to flatten the existing rollers, I'm wondering about the longevity of the poly hubs.

Check out the LoadRite website. It would appear that they have come up with a new style roller for use on their trailers. Check it out.

trailer should not flatten rollers, should be mostly on keel rollers w/ balancing by wobbles

gleemontague,

What kind of trailer are you refering to? I have an EZ Loader and I have no keel rollers. It is all wobble bunks. Did you add keel rollers?
