I have a very dumb question to ask, but this board is always good about answering my novice questions
I just ordered some new rollers for a sea nymph tralier that I just picked up.
The ones on there were in horrible shape, ripped, worn and rusted they barely rolled at all. The replacements are roller style. I ordered one keel roller and then another that was described as a complete bow roller assemply.
The rollers that came off of the trailer had 5/8 inch bolts insde a metal sleeve that were bolted together to hold the roller in place. I see online here in the store that they sell pin replacements, and not bolts. I bought the: ShipShape Zinc Plated Roller Shaft with Cap Nuts.
Here is my dumb question....
What is the proper way to secure them? I am guessing the bolt method that was on my trailer was not the proper way.
Does the shaft just go through the roller with the cap nuts banged on each end? Or is there another way to secure the cap nuts?
Hopefully this is a very easy fix that is something I just cannot seem to figure out without all of the parts in front of me.
This is obviously my first trailer and my first experience trailering anything. Any advice or info. any can give is greatly apreciated!
