i have a 2003 150 yammie 2 stroke.engine was installed on boat at a marina at oak island nc.my problem is the lower unit wnet out and i could only idle in foward gear if i tried to throttle up it would jump in and out of gear.got it home and found that i could pull the prop shaft in and out about an inch.removed the prop and checked the carrier nut but it was tight drained oil and found lots of metal shavings.replaced the lower unit with a brand new one,got about 8 hours on it following break in instructions and the same thing happened agin.i noticed that if your not careful u will shift from foward to reverse with no nuetral.can the shift cable adjustment be causing me to blow forward gear im at witts end
