I have rebuilt a couple Quadrajets on cars awhile ago and had a little knowledge in the basic skills to do so. When I had a carb that was bad on my boat I looked around for some videos on the net and couldn't find any. I did a bunch of research and rebuilt mt first marine carb. It worked out pretty well, so having two engines I decided that I would rebuild the other one. A friend of mine asked if I would show him how to do it, so I decided I would make a video. Remember that I am no expert and don't know all of the technical words and jargon that goes along with this rebuild but this has worked for me and maybe it could help someone else.

Awsome video Alpheus. I will be rebuilding my Qaud very soon and this video will come in handy.

It would be cool if we could get a sticky in the DIY for this.

This whole forum was designed for just that purpose (DIY) wasn't it?

The guy here in my area who all of the local marinas use to have carbs rebuilt charges 240 dollars to do exactly what I did in the video except he puts a new coat of black paint on them...

There's nothing wrong with (DIY)I think most people are to insecure or just to damn lazy to even try to do there own work. But I guess thats why I have a job.:) I always tell my mechanics THERES NO SUCH WORD AS CAN'T:)

Great job! I agree. Illustrating your project with this video is worth a thousand posts to explain all the deatils....

Mechanics need not worry. Although the level of mechanical skill required to take on this project is not beyond the reach of the average boater, it takes some guts ...but if they want to do it, the video may help.

Would like to see the engine roar with the new carb...

Nice job on the video. I was going to do it apprehensively, now it will be a lot less stressful.

Outstanding vids.... I was not going to touch my carb until I saw your video......

Did you ever find an easier way to install thechoke piece that goes onto the keyed shaft??

My solution took me less than a minute to install and tighten screw....
In the toolbox I found a pair of tweezers, the type that work in reverse.. squeeze and they open, release and they close.,...

Reached down and grabbed the piece.. released the pressure on tweezers and just manipulated the part to line up in the hole... very very easy... I hope this helps
