well due to unusuall circumstances i ended up with a busted windshied on my cedarstrip boat.busted good i might add.well due to the design and width there was only one place in north america that made anything close .almost 700 bucks ,owch.plexi-glass to boot.found one on ebay that was exactly what i needed and is tempered glass and smoke green to boot.used but very nice 250 bucks and a mear 5 hrs from home so away i go for a spring road trip to grand haven michigan.who knows i might even find another boat to take home with me on the trip.

heading to grand haven tomorrow will be a long day but worth it .proably get a room if i get tired though im use to 12 to 14 hrs driving or at least it never fazed me last year but im a year older now ,lol.anyways saftey first, money last.time to power up the gps ,god bless those little guys.

yup, bringing lots of blankets to wrap up the windshied .talked to the seller, weather was great today ,though a little bit of flooding around the area but not serious .good thing the seller is a restorer and has 100 percent feedback on ebay with over 700 or so sales so shouldnt be any suprises.proably leave 4.30 or 5 am from here to get good jump on day.mastercard is locked and loaded :laugh:

almost forgot to renew my caa membership(aaa in u.s.a).travel ins is still kosher.locked myself out of truck in south dakota last year, caa sure came in handy for this not to bright bunny,lol.never leave home without it .

Made it back home in 16 hrs ,with lots of stops of course .Lets see a quick recap of trip.First 40 miles uneventful.Next 10, deer dodging 101. .25 plus in 10 miles just before big mac.(mackinaw bridge).All quite till just past caddilac mich .A wild turkey decides to try to enter my passenger door at 75 mph.He doesnt succead and causes amazinly enough zero damage other than a few feathers stuck on my right side mirror and a totally amazed driver.Same area in quick sucession i see a 70,s? Ford Granada ,right hand drive original Austin Mini,and a Rabbit like pick up from vw also im assuming the late 70,s or early 80,s.Get to sellers home ,windshield is indeed wrong size!!!!!After much embersement on his part we found a plexi replacement for a serious discount so all was not lost.Seller also showed me 2 not 1 but 2 Bearcat outboards .one was a Homelite the other a Fisher.Very cool concidering they were way ahead of Honda and Yammy in the 4 stroke game .Wrong time in history for them i quess.Fair amount of flooding in the area.Rained all day too.Last 50 miles home lets add a snowstorm to the mix.Total milage was 1200 klicks.All in all a pleasnt day ,lol.Warnig to all Canadians,if you stop at Jays Sporting Goods in Gaylord you may not make it out of there with any coin atall.Barely fought off the temptation myself .
