several weeks ago after I finally got the bugs out of my outboard I had a very pleasant river ride on Lake Wylie SC. It looks like the mild temps in the low 70s later this week will give me one last chance for the year. Here is a picture from 2 weeks ago. I got room for one more....lets go

I went out with a buddy of mine on his 17" Sea Ray from a gated community there in Belmont a couple of weeks ago. The leaves were just starting to turn. He let me run the boat for a while and it was pretty nice until we started running low on gas! Oops.

Looks like a great run! I remember being a kid (around 25 years ago), living just south of charlotte and my first boating experiences with dad and grandpa was on that lake. Dad absolutely loved Lake Wylie. Now all I have is lake erie and have to look at mine winterized several month before I can enjoy it again . The wife and I are getting the itch to move south and love the Lake norman area.

fairlane; thank you for your post.
your pix looks like there is a dam in the back ground. you say a river run. this make me a little confused.
we haven't looked to hard at any locations, but when jill retires, the plan is to take the 310 and summer on different lakes around the country.

lake wylie is one that seems to come. we might get ahold of you in the future for more locale intel, if you dont mind.

The picture shows a couple of bridges, The dam is about 5 miles south of this picture taken on the north end. I went out again today and most likely will be the last ride but maybe not.

I like wylie ok but too many water cops during the boating season.

We love going to lake Tillery about an hour east of Charlotte.
Way less boat traffic, people are really friendly and a good little marina with ice cream, burgers and snacks.
It is almost 6000 acres with 144 miles of shoreline...

Lake Norman is for all the big Go fast boats and million dollar plus homes..
That and a few thousand jet ski idiots running wild..
