Heres whats up.
Last year i stored my boat at a storage lot, the cover came off, and the cabin flooded and the engine compartment flooded.
The water level was half way up on the engine, i drained all the water out; and did some serious cleaning.
It is now dry in the engine compartment......... do i need to worry about water being in my engine?
This is a 2003 rinker 232... im just wondering if i should worry about starting the engine or not? because if water is in the engine, it might cause me some problems.... like sugar in a gas tank or something?

should i not worry now and just fire it up?

any advice would be sweet, thanks

The engine should be sealed....at least halfway up when you think about it. Did water get in the crankcase? Is you oil milky? If not, you should be OK. After checking it out, I'd change it anyway. Also check for any water in your cylinders by pulling the plugs and having a peek. I'd be more concerned with submerged wiring harnesses and anything electrical.

Might be worth checking the starter and alternator too. If the alternator is mounted low on the engine and was submerged it's probably damaged. Same for the starter although they're more robust. All electrical connections that were submerged should be suspect.
