I have 2600 Century CC with twin 150 HPDI on it, the original props that came on the boat are 3 blade, 15 1/4 x 17, I currently turn 5500 RPM and max speed is approximately 41 MPH by GPS. I hold 200 gallons of gas and tyically have 3-5 people on board while fishing. I need to replace the Stainless Props and was wondering if there are any options on trying a different pitch to gain a few more MPH. When I originally bought the boat it would not turn the full 5500 rpm so I took the props in and them work on and got my rpm back to 5500 RPM. Any suggestions or recommendation as to what I should go back with. The Yamaha preformance bulletin says that I should be running 44 mph at 5400 RPM with the stock props.
Thanks

Re: right prop replacement

What year are the motors?
This seems a little hard to follow. Is 5500 @ 41 with or without people? Do we know what pitch your doctored props are?
Is the 5500 at 41 what it did after doctored? "stock props" do you mean yamaha props. As far as I know there isn't a standard prop
as props are selected for the applicatioon and activities.
44 at 5400 sounds like those are the props you need.?

Re: right prop replacement

The motors are 2002 models, 420 hrs on them. The original props or stock props that came on the boat were yamaha 15 1/4 x 17m & 17ml. The boat would only turn up to 5200 RPM with a full load of fuel and only me on board when I first got it, I pulled the props and took them to the prop shop and they did some work on them but I can not tell you what they did other than I feel they did something to the cupping. These are the same props that I am needing to replace now since one of them has a chunk of blade missing. I am going to replace both props so thats the reason I asking if anyone has any suggestions before I buy to new props and then have to take them back to the shop to have them worked on again. I don't have much knowledge of what changes will affect perfomance, would going to a 4 blade different or same pitch make any difference in performance, would changing the pitch on the reccomended diameter 3 blade make any difference?
Thanks for the reply any other suggestions will be appreciated.
