Hi everybody,
I recently bought a 150HP Johnson outboard with serial J150TXCCA for my 21" boat. I mounted the motor on the boat and started using it, but I realized that some water appears between the motor and the boat. So I ask for advice and a friend told me that he think that the motor have been mounted to low.....it was mounted with the Dolphin one inch below the base of the boat.
Is this the right position of the outboard?? What position should be the adequate??

Thank you for your advice,
Best
eehni

For average use, even with the bottom of the hull. One hole up for a bit more speed, one hole down for rough water.

The way you describe where you have it mounted now would put the Dolphin below the surface of the water. This will result in a huge drag. Try Willy's suggestion first - then take the Dolphin off and try it again and compare the difference.

Yep, the fin should be almost right above the surface while at wot... For bes performance anyway... Move up slowly and test....
