i just want to know what a ride plate is for and where does it go on a 96 tigershark monte carlo 770 thanks

"ride plate" is a nickname.

Yamaha calls it a "pump cover" or something like that. It is a metal plate bolted to the bottom of the ski that covers the jet pump area. you have to remove it to access the pump.
